Find and Replace Multiple Words
Find and replace multiple words or phrases in your text at once with this free browser-based text replacement tool.
Find and Replace Multiple Words
Paste your text below, add each word or phrase you want to find and enter its replacement. All replacement pairs are processed in sequence.
| # | Find | Replace with | Action |

Replacement pairs are processed from top to bottom. If one replacement creates text that matches a later pair, that new text may also be processed by the later replacement.
What Is Find and Replace Multiple Words?
Find and replace multiple words is a text editing process that allows several different words or phrases to be changed within the same piece of text. Instead of searching for each value individually, multiple find and replacement pairs can be entered and processed together.
This free online tool is designed for situations where many different text values need to be updated. It can be useful for editing documents, cleaning text, updating terminology, standardising wording and making repeated changes across larger blocks of content.
Why Use Find and Replace Multiple Words?
When several different words need to be changed, performing individual searches can take unnecessary time. This tool lets you create multiple replacement pairs and process them together while providing options for controlling how text is matched.
Multiple Replacements
Add multiple find and replace pairs and process different words or phrases in a single operation.
Custom Replacement Pairs
Choose a different replacement value for every word or phrase you want to change.
Case-Sensitive Matching
Choose whether uppercase and lowercase characters should be treated as different during matching.
Whole-Word Matching
Restrict ordinary text matches to complete words to avoid unintentionally changing parts of longer words.
Match Counting
Count matching occurrences across all configured replacement pairs before changing your text.
Browser-Based
Process your text directly in your browser without installing software or creating an account.
How to Use Find and Replace Multiple Words
Create a replacement pair for each word or phrase you want to change, then process the text in one operation.
- Enter your text — Paste or type the text you want to edit into the Text field.
- Add replacement pairs — Enter the word or phrase to find and the value that should replace it. Select Add Replacement to create additional pairs.
- Choose matching options — Enable Case sensitive or Whole word when required.
- Process the text — Select Count Matches to check the matches first, or select Replace All to apply all configured replacements.
Replace Multiple Words Online
Replacing multiple words manually can be inefficient when the same text contains many different values that need updating. A multiple-word find and replace tool provides a single interface for defining all of the required changes. Each find value is paired with its own replacement value, allowing different words and phrases to be changed during the same operation.
This approach can be useful for text cleanup, content updates, terminology changes, document preparation and other repetitive editing tasks. For example, several outdated product names could be replaced with their current names, or multiple spelling variations could be standardised.
Replacing Different Words With Different Values
Each replacement pair operates independently. You can enter one word in the Find field and a different word in the Replace with field, then add additional pairs for other changes. This makes the tool suitable for bulk editing where a simple single-value replacement is not enough.
Case-Sensitive and Whole-Word Replacement
Case-sensitive matching is useful when the exact capitalisation of a term matters. Whole-word matching can prevent a short search term from being replaced when it occurs as part of a longer word. These options provide additional control over ordinary text searches.
Multiple Word Replacement Tool Information
Replacement pairs are processed sequentially from the first row to the last. This means the result produced by an earlier replacement becomes the input for the next replacement. If a replacement value happens to match a later Find value, it may therefore be changed by that later replacement.
The tool processes ordinary text directly in your browser using JavaScript. Your text is not deliberately uploaded to a YesTools server by the find and replace functionality. For important documents, review the result carefully before using it elsewhere, particularly when replacement pairs overlap or one replacement value contains another search value.
