What Is a Multiples Calculator?

A Multiples Calculator generates the multiples of a whole number by repeatedly multiplying it by positive integers. For example, the first five multiples of 6 are 6, 12, 18, 24 and 30.

Multiples are commonly used in mathematics, fractions, divisibility, number patterns, timetables and problems involving common multiples. This calculator makes it quick to generate a precise list without performing each multiplication manually.

Why Use Multiples Calculator?

This free online multiples calculator provides a quick way to generate an organised list of multiples while also showing the number used and the final multiple in the generated sequence.

  4. Review the Results — View the complete list and the supporting number information.

How to Find Multiples of a Number

To find multiples of a number, multiply that number by successive whole numbers. For example, to find multiples of 8, calculate 8 × 1, 8 × 2, 8 × 3, 8 × 4 and so on. This produces 8, 16, 24, 32 and other values in the sequence.

Every non-zero whole number has infinitely many positive multiples. A calculator therefore generates a selected number of multiples rather than attempting to list every possible multiple.

Multiples Example

If you enter 7 and request 10 multiples, the calculator produces 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63 and 70. Each result is obtained by multiplying 7 by an integer from 1 through 10.

Multiples and Factors

Factors and multiples are closely related but describe different relationships. A factor divides a number exactly, whereas a multiple is the result of multiplying a number by an integer. For example, 4 is a factor of 20, while 20 is a multiple of 4.

Understanding Multiples Calculator Results

The calculator starts with the first positive multiple, which is the entered number multiplied by 1. It then continues through successive multipliers until the requested number of multiples has been generated.

The calculator accepts positive whole numbers and generates between 1 and 100 multiples per calculation. All calculations take place in your browser, and the results are not sent to a server by the tool itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

A multiple is the result of multiplying a number by an integer. For example, the multiples of 5 include 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25.
To find multiples of a number, multiply it by successive positive integers. For example, multiplying 7 by 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 produces 7, 14, 21, 28 and 35.
Factors divide a number exactly, while multiples are produced by multiplying a number by an integer. For example, 3 is a factor of 12, while 12 is a multiple of 3.
Yes. Zero is a multiple of every non-zero integer because any non-zero number multiplied by zero equals zero. This calculator generates positive multiples beginning with the entered number.
The least common multiple, or LCM, is the smallest positive number that is a multiple of two or more numbers. For example, the LCM of 4 and 6 is 12.
Yes. The Multiples Calculator is free to use online, with calculations performed directly in your browser.
