What Is a Random Number List Generator?
A random number list generator creates a sequence of randomly selected whole numbers within a range defined by the user. Instead of generating just one number, this tool lets you create a complete list in a single operation.
Random number lists can be useful for games, testing, simulations, classroom activities, selections, demonstrations, sample data and other situations where a set of randomly selected numbers is required. You can choose whether repeated values are allowed and how the finished list should be ordered.
Why Use the Random Number List Generator?
This tool gives you control over the size and structure of your random number list without requiring software or manual calculations.
Custom Range
Define the minimum and maximum values for the numbers that can appear in your list.
Custom List Size
Generate anywhere from 1 to 500 random numbers in a single list.
Unique Results
Prevent duplicate numbers when you need every value in the generated list to be different.
Sort the List
Keep numbers in their generated order or sort the complete list from lowest to highest or highest to lowest.
Copy the List
Copy all generated values with one click, with each number placed on its own line.
Free to Use
Generate random number lists directly in your browser without an account or software installation.
How to Use the Random Number List Generator
Follow these steps to create a random list of numbers with your preferred settings.
- Enter the minimum number — Enter the smallest integer that can be included in the generated list.
- Enter the maximum number — Enter the largest integer that can be included in the generated list.
- Choose the list length — Enter the number of random values you want, from 1 to 500.
- Generate the list — Click Generate Number List. You can enable unique numbers or choose a sorting option before generating.
Generate a Random Number List Online
This free random number list generator allows you to create a list of integers between any two whole-number limits. Both the minimum and maximum values are included, giving you precise control over the possible results.
For example, setting the minimum to 1, maximum to 100 and list length to 20 creates a list containing 20 randomly selected integers from 1 through 100. Duplicate numbers may occur unless the Unique numbers option is enabled.
Random Number Lists Without Duplicates
The unique numbers option is useful when each number in the list needs to be different. When enabled, the generator checks each new value against the values already selected and only adds unused numbers. The range must contain enough distinct integers to satisfy the requested list length.
Random Number Lists With Custom Sorting
Random values can be displayed in the order in which they were generated or sorted numerically. Choosing lowest to highest or highest to lowest can make a generated list easier to inspect, compare or transfer into another application.
Random Number List Generator Information
The generator creates whole numbers rather than decimal values. The minimum and maximum values are inclusive, so either boundary can appear in the generated list. The list length can be set from 1 to 500 numbers.
When unique numbers are disabled, repeated values are permitted. When unique numbers are enabled, each number in the current list is different. The generator performs the number generation in your browser, and the values entered into the tool are not submitted to a server for processing.
