What Is a Random Time Generator?
A random time generator is an online tool that creates random times within a selected time range. Instead of choosing a time manually, you can define the earliest and latest permitted times and let the generator select the results for you.
This can be useful when you need random times for testing, planning, games, examples, sample data, demonstrations, scheduling exercises or other situations where an arbitrary time is required. The generator works directly in your browser, making it quick to use without installing additional software.
Why Use Random Time Generator?
The tool provides control over the time range, number of results and presentation format, making it suitable for both simple random selections and larger sets of sample times.
Custom Time Range
Set an exact start and end time so generated results stay within the period you specify.
Multiple Results
Generate from 1 to 100 random times in a single operation instead of repeating the process manually.
Flexible Formats
Display results using either a 24-hour clock or a 12-hour clock with AM and PM.
Duplicate Control
Choose whether the same minute may occur more than once in a set of generated results.
Instant Generation
Generate random times immediately in your browser without downloading an application.
Easy Copying
Copy the complete set of generated times or copy individual results whenever you need them.
How to Use Random Time Generator
Generating random times takes only a few seconds. Set your preferred range and output options, then generate the results.
- Choose a start time — Select the earliest time that can appear in your results.
- Choose an end time — Select the latest time that can appear. The selected endpoints are included.
- Set the options — Choose the number of times, display format and whether duplicate minutes are permitted.
- Generate and copy — Click Generate Times to create your results, then copy individual times or the complete list.
Generate Random Times Online
This free random time generator lets you create random times between two points on a 24-hour clock. You can use the tool to select a single random time or produce a larger collection of random times for testing, planning, demonstrations, games and sample data.
Because the time range is customisable, you can generate a random time from a full day or restrict the selection to a particular period such as the morning, afternoon, evening or normal working hours. The generated results can be displayed in either 24-hour or 12-hour time format.
Random Times Within a Custom Range
The generator treats the selected start and end times as an inclusive range. For example, a range from 09:00 to 17:00 can produce 09:00, 17:00 or any minute between those two times. The generator works at one-minute resolution, providing 481 possible minute values in that example.
Useful for Testing, Planning and Examples
Random times can be useful when creating sample datasets, testing applications that process time values, preparing examples, selecting arbitrary times for games or exercises, and producing non-predictable sample schedules. You can generate several values at once and optionally sort them chronologically for easier reading.
About Generated Random Times
The generator works with minute-level precision. Both the selected start and end times are inclusive, so either boundary can appear as a result. Leap seconds and seconds within a minute are not represented because the tool generates standard hours and minutes.
If duplicate times are disabled, each generated result represents a different minute. If you request more unique times than are available in the selected range, the tool will prevent generation and ask you to reduce the number of results or allow duplicates. The randomisation and formatting take place locally in your browser, and generated results are not uploaded or stored by the tool.
