Secure Password Generator
Choose your password options and generate a strong random password. Everything is processed locally in your browser.
Passwords are generated locally in your browser and are not sent to a server.
What Is a Secure Password Generator?
A secure password generator creates random passwords using a selected combination of letters, numbers and symbols. Instead of relying on memorable words, names or predictable patterns, it produces passwords that are difficult to guess.
This free secure password generator is useful when creating accounts, administrator credentials, Wi-Fi passwords and other credentials that need to be difficult to predict. Passwords are generated directly in your browser, so the generated value does not need to be transmitted to a server.
Why Use the Secure Password Generator?
Strong passwords are an important part of account security. This tool provides control over password length and character composition so you can create passwords that meet the requirements of different services.
Strong Random Passwords
Generate unpredictable passwords using browser-based cryptographically secure random values.
Custom Length
Choose a password length from 8 to 64 characters to suit your security requirements.
Multiple Character Types
Include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols in generated passwords.
Exclude Ambiguous Characters
Optionally remove characters that can be difficult to distinguish, such as 0, O, l and 1.
Browser-Based
The password is generated locally in your browser without requiring an external password-generation service.

- Copy the password — Select “Copy” and store the password in a secure password manager or use it where required.
How to Create a Strong and Secure Password
Password strength depends heavily on unpredictability and length. A password based on a name, dictionary word, familiar phrase or predictable substitution can be easier to guess than a randomly generated string. Increasing the length also increases the number of possible combinations an attacker must consider.
A strong password should normally be unique to the account where it is used. Reusing the same password across multiple websites creates additional risk because a password exposed by one service may subsequently be used to attempt access to another account.
Why Password Length Matters
Every additional character increases the potential number of password combinations when the characters are selected randomly. For this reason, a longer randomly generated password is generally preferable to a short password with a complicated-looking but predictable pattern.
Using Password Managers
Random passwords can be difficult to remember, which is why a reputable password manager can be useful. A password manager can generate, store and fill unique credentials without requiring users to memorise every password individually. The password manager itself should be protected with a strong master credential and appropriate security controls.
Password Generator Security and Privacy
This tool performs password generation in the browser. It uses the Web Crypto API's crypto.getRandomValues() function when available, providing a cryptographically secure source of random values for character selection. The generated password is not submitted to a YesTools server by this tool.
No generated password should be treated as a substitute for other security measures. Use unique passwords, enable multi-factor authentication where available, keep software updated and avoid sharing passwords with other people. Some websites also impose their own restrictions on password length or permitted characters, so generated passwords may need to be adjusted to meet a particular service's requirements.
