Results are separated into appropriate units so that a duration such as 5,430 seconds is presented as 1 hour, 30 minutes and 30 seconds rather than as a single large number of seconds.

Understanding Time Difference Results

The result shows the total elapsed duration as well as the original start and end times. Total hours are provided as a decimal value, which can be useful when entering a duration into timesheets, spreadsheets or other systems that require hours in decimal form.

This calculator works with times of day rather than calendar dates and is intended for intervals of up to 24 hours.
