Build properly formatted URLs with custom query parameters quickly and easily using this free online URL Generator.
URL Generator
Enter a base URL, add your query parameters, and generate a complete URL ready to copy and use.
What Is a URL Generator?
A URL Generator is an online tool for building complete web addresses from a base URL and one or more query parameters. Instead of manually constructing a query string, you can enter each parameter separately and let the generator assemble the final URL.
This is useful when creating tracking URLs, testing web applications, passing values to websites, linking to filtered pages, or working with services that accept information through URL parameters. The generator processes the URL directly in your browser, so no software installation is required.
Why Use the URL Generator?
Building query strings manually can become inconvenient when a URL contains multiple parameters or special characters. This tool provides a structured way to create and review the final URL before using it.
Easy URL Building
Enter a base URL and add parameters using separate name and value fields.
URL Encoding
Parameter names and values are encoded so spaces and special characters can be represented safely.
Multiple Parameters
Add multiple query parameters to create more complex URLs without manually editing the query string.
Existing Queries
Preserve existing query parameters in a base URL when additional parameters need to be appended.
One-Click Copy
Copy the generated URL directly to your clipboard after it has been created.
Free to Use
Generate URLs directly in your browser without registration, downloads or paid software.
How to Use the URL Generator
Follow these steps to create a URL with query parameters.
- Enter the base URL — Enter the website address where you want the generated URL to point, such as https://example.com/page.
- Add parameters — Enter a parameter name and its corresponding value. Select “Add Parameter” if you need additional fields.
- Choose query handling — Leave the existing-query option enabled if the base URL already contains parameters that should remain in the final URL.
- Generate and copy — Select “Generate URL” to create the final address, then use “Copy URL” to copy it to your clipboard.
Generate URLs With Query Parameters
Query parameters are values added to the end of a URL after a question mark. They allow websites and web applications to receive additional information from a link. A parameter normally consists of a name and a value separated by an equals sign, while multiple parameters are separated using ampersands.
For example, a URL can use parameters such as utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign for campaign tracking. Other websites may use parameters for searches, filters, sorting options, product selections or other application-specific information.
URL Encoding and Special Characters
URL parameters can contain spaces and characters that have special meanings within URLs. The generator uses URL encoding for parameter names and values so characters such as spaces, ampersands and question marks can be represented correctly within the query string.
Using URLs for Tracking
Marketing and analytics platforms commonly use query parameters to identify where traffic originates. Parameters such as UTM source, medium and campaign can be added to a destination URL so compatible analytics systems can distinguish different traffic sources.
Understanding Generated URLs
A generated URL consists of the base address followed by an optional query string. The query string begins with a question mark and contains one or more name-value pairs. For example, a URL containing ?page=2&sort=latest has two query parameters: page with a value of 2, and sort with a value of latest.
This tool generates the URL locally in your browser. It does not verify whether the destination website accepts a particular parameter or whether the resulting URL points to a valid page. The meaning of each parameter is determined by the website receiving the request.
